| We are now looking for a Head of North America to open and lead our operations in the USA. You will lead the establish and lead the North American division of Macs Adventure, a market that currently accounts for 30% of group sales. |
As general manager of our North American subsidiary you will have responsibility for sales, marketing, product development, operations, customer service, legal, financial and regulatory functions of our North American business. You will of course be supported by head office department heads across each specialist function.
You will connect with our already substantial North American customer base, who love independent, active, authentic and transformative travel experiences, and make a significant impact on the future success of a fast growing international business.
You should be a switched on, commercially aware leader, with considerable experience of the adventure travel industry who is looking for a challenge, wants to run their own show and make a difference. Boasting plenty of initiative, you get a kick out of making things happen and are comfortable making decisions. Most importantly you want to make a difference to the lives of your colleagues, customers and partners.
It goes without saying that you should share our passion for walking, cycling and adventure travel
Your skills, experience and interests
You should have a track record of successful leadership in the adventure travel industry and experience of creating, building and leading a successful team. You should be able to foster a culture which reflects our values and be an independent, creative and results driven problem solver. We want our team to be adventurous, active, be personal, have fun and give a shit.
You should have considerable experience in the adventure travel industry and an in-depth understanding and track record across different business areas. Establishing our North American base will require you to be positive, flexible and show a willingness to get involved with a wide variety of tasks and projects. Strong strategic and project management skills are a must.
If you’ve gotten this far I guess your interests include active and adventure travel, hiking, biking as well as generally active, fun and interesting things. That’s good!
